What does coaching entail for my teachers?
So my philosophy around coaching involves a few points:

- Overarching purpose and intent is to SUPPORT the teacher to grow professionally, thus it must be non-evaluative
- Teachers deserve a voice in their professional growth; though I might be guiding some of the conversation, what ultimately guides the action plans are 2 fold - DATA and teacher's desires to focus on those areas.
- I am a coach, not a teacher. Similar to the above point, I am not going to just tell them what to do, how to fix, etc. This means, sometimes, I'll only pose the question and hope they come to some decision around things eventually in order to finish the deed.
- Weekly observations; I go into their classroom, sometimes we select which class and cohort together for at least 25minutes but at max, the full 95minutes.
- Debriefs: 45 minutes reserved on a weekly basis to discuss the observation, check in, and decide other things that might need to be discussed.
- Co-Planning (as needed) whole lessons, parts of lessons, unit
- Co-Teaching (as needed): parts of a lesson (i.e. RA, ML, conferring); I always position myself as the co-teacher, and not as the lead teacher in these situations, jumping in only if I feel something needs to be restated or hasn't been said or to restate something.
- Modeling Instruction: this can be in front of the kids or just one on one.
- More importantly, coaching means being a support that is always available, which can mean meeting outside of the regular times we have, being available by phone/email, providing feedback on lesson plans
