Fake vs Real
a veer from the actual intent of this blog....
so you kno how one might have crushes...
and crushes are fake. at least in my dictionary they are. you kno, its those things that let you be back in middle school and giggle and just smile for no reason and be giddy.
but theyre fake. in that nothing can come of it.
so i go to see this phenomenal play "history boys" with my roomie and i totally form this crush on an actor. and its wonderful because its fake and temporary and it disappears. until i am informed by a skeptical friend that on my bulletin board where i have carefully placed his little bio excerpt from the playbill that he has a website.
so of course i go to it. just to be entertained. and i find that i can leave a message. or send an email.
now be reminded i have been in an accident. and i am currently still on vicadin. whether that gives me more boldness or just poor judgment, i send him this looong email about how wonderful the play is and how wonderful he is and how wonderful he was in the play....without any expectation of course because after all, he is "fake."
but of course not. the boy answers. and is quite sweet. and then the magic words:
"facebook me"
so on the urging of my roomie, i friend him. he confirms our now existing friendship. and thus begins the stalking.
which gets awkward because...
1. we apparently have a mutual friend
2. he has real pictures. of him being real.
so now my fake world has collided with reality. even though the wise tabitha continues to inform me..."he is a real person," i keep hoping that it wouldnt be...
because it was just so much more fun when he was fake.
solution: form a new crush on another actor from the play who i am not friends with on facebook. sigh.
i will now return to attempting to "be the change"...

sonia, sweetie, i'm sorry i drowned your fantasy in reality. keep crushing on whomever and i'll try to be better about keeping your head in the clouds.
ReplyDeletehaha...this cracked me up!!! =P my friend has a theory that i only crush on celebs since they won't let me down. i'll never really know who they are in real life so i can make up my own things in my mind...=P hope you're feeling better!!!! let's do joy's soon!!!! :)
